2009-2010 School Year
Our visions and goals for the 2009-2010 school year continue to be focused on higher levels of instruction and student learning. Our specific area of focus will be on the writing process. In addition, we will continue to implement research-based strategies such as guided reading and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all type of learners. We will continue project-based learning as a means to engage students in a higher level of thinking.
This year our third through fifth grades have a brand new Science series which includes standard-based lessons and hands-on activities that promote curiosity and foster the development of science inquiry skills. Also, a new Social Studies series was purchased for grades 1-5. The Social Studies series offers students a strong mix of core content activities and technology that connect to their real world every day. All Science and Social Studies Student Editions will be available online.
Our annual Project Fair will be held this school year in March and will focus on “Important people that have influenced our lives”. All community members, parents and students will be invited to view student project work. We hope to see you there!
Sincerely, Gail Pivirotto School Facilitator |
