Homework
Homework is an
extension of what students are doing in the classroom whether it’s for
reinforcement, a practice activity, a project, or studying for a test. Homework
will be given on a daily basis and is expected to be completed neatly and in
pencil by the next day unless otherwise specified.
The students are
responsible for returning assignments to the teacher the next day. All homework
will be collected, checked and returned.
Because homework
is considered to be an extension of student learning outside the classroom, it
will count as a part of each student’s academic grade. Failure to complete
homework on a regular basis will result in a decrease of the student’s report
card grade.
Calling All Families
Families are the
first teachers of their children. As such it is important to help the students
to create a strong home school connection. One way to achieve this is by having
families involved in the classroom when possible. If you are interested in
contributing to your child’s education by being a class parent, a chaperone, a
parent reader, or you would like to share a particular area of expertise with
your child’s class, please see your child’s teacher to make arrangements.
