Garfield High School is proud to announce the Academic Hall of Fame, whose purpose is to recognize alumni who have demonstrated significant accomplishments based upon academic excellence and achievement. Induction into the Academic Hall of Fame acknowledges the career accomplishments, community service, personal excellence, and dedication to lifelong learning demonstrated by Garfield High School alumni.
The nomination forms are available at the Garfield High School website http://www.gboe.org/ghs/index.htm or the Garfield High School main office on Palisade and Outwater Lane. Nominations may be made by members of the community, faculty, students, and retired staff. The nominee must have graduated from Garfield High School prior to 1997 and have been recognized for a high level of achievement in a combination of academic endeavors, career excellence and service to community, state, or national initiatives. Moreover, the nominee should exemplify personal commitment to good character, scholarship, leadership, and service within his/her field of expertise.
All nominations should be mailed before March 1, 2009, to Mr. Joseph Kobylarz, c/o Garfield High School, 500 Palisade Avenue, Garfield, NJ 07026. For further information, call Mrs. Nancy Kutsup at (973)-340-5010 ex. 2134.
Statement of Purpose:
The mission of the Academic Hall of Fame is to recognize alumni of Garfield High School who have demonstrated significant accomplishments based upon academic excellence and achievement. Induction into the Academic Hall of Fame acknowledges the career accomplishments, community service, personal excellence, and dedication to lifelong learning demonstrated by Garfield High School alumni. In addition to recognizing alumni for academic achievement and career success, the Academic Hall of Fame will underscore the importance of setting significant educational and personal goals for the current students of Garfield High School.
Criteria for Nomination:
1. Nominee must have graduated from Garfield High School at least 10 years prior to nomination.
2. Nominee has been recognized for a high level of achievement in a combination of academic endeavors, career excellence, and service to community, state, or national initiatives.
3. Nominee has consistently demonstrated personal commitment to good character, scholarship, leadership, and service within his/her field of expertise.
* Note: Individuals may be nominated posthumously.
