Text Box: 	Garfield High School has no doubt been infected with the Sudoku /Crossword craze that is sweeping the nation! It has inspired wars during study hall periods, interrupted classes, and has become a way to doll out extra credit for tests. This hype is not for naught as both items have their high points, such as increasing memory and stimulating the brain. Students and teachers alike have joined together to conquer these giants. On a Friday you can find many a person huddled over a cut out newspaper section praying to find that lost 4 or missing letter. How this new craze began is hard to say, but it is perhaps one of the better fads to take over Garfield High School. Many students have been spotted with electronic Sudoku games and they are even standard on some cell phones. If you think that Sudoku is not for you, try an easy puzzle and see how it goes. Who knows—you might end up enjoying it!

Text Box: 	Many people use drugs casually. It is very easy for casual drug users to turn into drug abusers. Once someone abuses a drug, they can become addicted very quickly. When addicted, there is a compulsive drug craving known as “fiending”.
	Drug abuse raises risk Text Box: for brain hemorrhages. According to one study, twenty percent of young adults that suffered brain hemorrhage had abused drugs.  A new study finds that your genes could be the key to how you take up illicit drugs. The study looked at 1,400 pairs of twins that lived in Norway. Norway has a much Text Box: lower rate than most other countries. They were interviewed and assessed for their lifetime use of illicit drugs, which include marijuana, cocaine, opiates, psychedelics and stimulants. The study showed that twins were more likely to use drugs than non-twin young adults.
