Text Box: Friday, December 14th during 7th and 8th period marked the day of Garfield High School’s Winter Pep Rally. Unlike previous years, this traditional get-together for school spirit was held in the New Gym. As the DJs , John and Giordano, blasted their music throughout the day, students and teachers alike became more and more filled with Garfield Pride. 	When Pep Rally began, the master of ceremonies, Anabel Delacruz welcomed all winter varsity Boilermakers to the middle of the gym floor. The winter teams consist of: Girls and Boys track, Girls and Boys basketball, competition cheerleading, wrestling, and swimming. 	
	A small group of seniors from the decorating committee through a parade of banners representing our schools clubs and activities. Students had their eyes on the cheerleaders, who gave a great preview of their routine, which they use for competition. Many took the Text Box: time to listen to an outstanding singing performance sung by Juan, Brandon, Richie and Gian. 
	The Highlight of the Pep Rally  was six lucky teachers ( Mr. Tamwebber, Mr. Pettineo, Mr. Dolce, Mrs. DeCarlo, Mr. Van Keuren, and Mr. Barbier) who were chosen to take pies in their faces by their students. What the students did not know was that there was a twist. The teachers were equipped with full cans of whipped cream to fight back. Everyone joined the fun on the middle of the gym floor. All and all, it was a memorable pep rally.
