Under IDEA (Individuals with Disability Education Act), a child
must be between the ages of (3) three (see below “Project Child
Find”) and (21) twenty-one and meet the definition of a
“child with a disability”.
The definition includes children with physical, emotional,
learning and cognitive disabilities who, because of their condition,
need special education and/or related services.
The Child Study Team is responsible for the
identification, evaluation and determination of eligibility for these
students. The Child Study Team
is also accountable for the development, monitoring and evaluation of the
effectiveness of each students Individualized Education Plan (I.E.P.).
The following is a list of
Child Study Team members designated as case managers for each of
Garfield’s Schools under the direction of Mr. Alan Cirello Director of Special
Services andDr. Frank Roscoe Assistant Director.
