Mrs. Notar's 3rd Grade

Welcome to 3rd Grade

Welcome to third grade!  I am looking forward to an exciting year teaching your children.  They will be learning many new skills in reading comprehension, writing and mastering multiplication.  Third grade can sometimes be a difficult transition for some students.  I believe if we work together the students can become independent thinkers and have a positive experience.

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

School Supplies

The supplies needed for this year will be at least three pencils at all times, an eraser, pencil sharpener, homework notebook, assignment pad, folder, crayons, tissues when needed. All hard covered books must be covered.

Classroom Rules

The students and I made a list of class rules which is posted in the classroom.  Please encourage your child to behave properly in school and follow all the rules for both in and out of the classroom.  The children know that there are consequences for those who choose not to follow these rules.

Homework Policy

Homework is given each night. This will reinforce the skills they have learned in the classroom.  On weekends the children are  to practice their cursive handwriting. Please encourage your child to do homework and sign every homework assignment.  In third grade homework is very important and  for every three assignments that are missed they will get a zero. A student may  have to forfeit recess during lunchtime to complete a missing assignment.
