In September, all students in
the 4th and 5th grade get to choose an instrument (or continue) to play
with the band. Students receive lessons once a week with students
who play the same or similar instruments. At the end of the year,
students from schools 5, 6, and 8 come together to perform a
concert.
The
instruments that we currently offer lessons on are Flute, Clarinet, Bass
Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone
and Percussion (drums/bells).
Due to the popularity of saxophone and
percussion, we request that students make a second choice in the event that they are not chosen for their first. Percussionists will be admitted
BY AUDITION and saxophone will be available on a first come first serve basis.
Please
note that we have changed books! The book we use for
class is called "Jump Right In" and can be purchased at
Music and Arts. Baritone players should
purchase the Bass Clef (B.C.) version of the book. |
