Welcome Message

Welcome back to an exciting school year!  My name is Mrs. Westhoff and I plan on making this year a wonderful learning experience for the students in my room.  I am asking that you work with your child every night, go over the work that was done that day in school and always check their home work.  If you need to contact me, feel free to email me, call the main office, or write me a letter.  I am looking forward to a wonderful year with the students!

Homework Policy

The students will be given home work every day except Friday.  Please look for the HW at the top of each page so you know the assignments.  Be sure the HW comes back the next day.  If HW does not come back the following day, they will sit out at recess time.

Classroom Rules

1. Raise hands before talking.

2. Be respectful and courteous of everyone in the classroom.

3. Listen carefully.

4. Follow directions.

5. Work and play safely.

Weekend Folder

The weekend folder contains HW and SW from the week along with any tests the students have taken during the week.  Please take out all of the papers and only return the ones that say RETURN.  Also, please sign the folder next to the date every week and return the folder to school every Monday.

Birthdays

All children can celebrate their birthdays in class.  Please send in snacks like cupcakes or munchkins that can easily be passed out in the classroom.  Do not send in a cake!  You can also send in any drinks to go along with the snack if you would like.

Supplies for the School Year

The following is a list of supplies that the children should have at all times:

-12 sharpened pencils

-a tissue box

-1 pack of 24 Crayola crayons

-colored pencils

-2 folders

- 1 large stretchable book cover(Book Sox)

-2 large glue sticks

- 1 backpack

- 1 plastic pencil box

- 1 pencil sharpener with receptacle

- 1 pink eraser
