In September, all
students in the 4th and 5th grade get to choose an instrument (or
continue) to play with the band. Students receive lessons once a
week with students who play the same or similar instruments. At the
end of the year, students from all 6 elementary schools come together to
perform a concert.
The instruments that we currently offer lessons on are
Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Trumpet,
Trombone, Baritone and Percussion (drums/bells).
The book we use for class is called "Standard of
Excellence" (red book) and can be purchased at
Music and
Arts. Baritone players should purchase the Bass Clef (B.C.)
version of the book. |
