The Garfield School District Technology Department has implemented several initiatives to enhance the educational experience through technology. A key program is the 1:1 laptop initiative, ensuring every student has individual access to a laptop for their academic needs. This initiative promotes digital literacy and allows for a more interactive learning environment. All Students receive a HP Probook X360 Windows laptop as early as Kindergarten.

Additionally, the department has integrated Microsoft Office 365 and Teams into the curriculum, providing a suite of tools for collaboration, communication, and content creation. These platforms facilitate seamless sharing and management of documents, as well as virtual teamwork among students and teachers.

To further modernize the classrooms, Promethean Panels have been installed in every classroom. These interactive displays support dynamic teaching methods and allow for engaging, multimedia presentations that can enhance the learning process.

For the youngest learners, iPads have been introduced in the Preschool, offering a tactile and intuitive way for children to engage with educational apps and resources. This early exposure to technology helps to develop foundational skills that will be beneficial throughout their educational journey.

The Garfield School District commitment to STEAM education is evident in its integration of 3D printing into the curriculum. This forward-thinking approach not only encompasses the core subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics but also encourages students to engage in hands-on learning. The inclusion of 3D printing technology provides a tangible way for students to bring their ideas to life, fostering innovation and creativity. By combining the STEAM disciplines with 3D printing, the department is preparing students for the challenges of the future, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Overall, the Garfield School District Technology Department's initiatives reflect a commitment to providing a technologically advanced and supportive learning environment for all students.
