Garfield Spirit Days

District Spirit/Pride is important because it sets the tone for various aspects of the district and its students, staff, faculty, parents and community. It provides a source of stability, like someone to lean on. When the student body and staff, faculty, parents and community are involved in events on and off campus, it demonstrates a passion for Boilermaker Pride that is immeasurable and contagious. District Spirit/Pride can translate into higher expectations of one’s self and surroundings, pushing for positive changes in Garfield.

District Spirit/Pride can improve a student’s commitment to education. This commitment can in turn act as a deterrent to negative behavior, such as dropping out of school or making fun of others for their school affiliations.  Having a positive learning environment is one of the many things that make going to school and being involved in district wide events so exciting. District Wide Spirit/Pride helps to develop and foster relationships among people.
