| Announcements & Emergency School Closings Procedures |
When the Garfield Public Schools are closed or announces a delayed opening due to inclement weather:
- You will receive a phone call from the district announcing a delayed opening or school closing
- You will also receive a text message from the district (if you are registered)
- The announcement will be posted on the district website homepage and it will also be posted under Announcements-School Closings
- The Garfield Fire Department will sound an alarm at 6:30a.m. and again at 7:00a.m. This notifies the town that the school district is closed for the day. Please do not call the Police or Fire Department.
- You can also view delayed openings and school closing on the following news stations
- Also the local television stations:

CABLE TV - Channel 36
