Administrators and teachers consistently work to update district curriculum and develop programs to remain on the cutting edge of educational issues. Staff development and support are extensive and on-going throughout the school year. Our schools have strong and supportive parent associations and an active educational foundation that enhance the mission of our district. The relationship between the schools and community is excellent and lends to the overall sense that Garfield is a great place to live and work.

v Schools reopen on September 7th, 2010. This will be a One Session day for students.

v Active Living Resource Center, an organization that provides technical assistance to create active communities, sent a task force to  address  childhood obesity. This task force came to Garfield late Spring of 2005 to do a case study with our community. Read, "How Garfield, N.J.
