Welcome to the Garfield Public Schools website. The Garfield Schools are in partnership with residents, parents, teachers, administrators, and students. The schools and families are working together to provide a successful learning experience for all students.

Administrators and teachers consistently work to update district curriculum and develop programs to remain on the cutting edge of educational issues. Staff development and support are extensive and on-going throughout the school year. Our schools have strong and supportive parent associations and an active educational foundation that enhance the mission of our district. The relationship between the schools and community is excellent and lends to the overall sense that Garfield is a great place to live and work.

Latest News & Events

The 2009 school year is off to a great start.  Our elementary schools are in the second trimester while our middle and high schools' second marking period is coming to a close. Many exciting activities and events are planned in our schools for the remainder of the school year.

New Jersey State and district testing will begin in April. The week of April 27th our 1st & 2nd graders will be taking the NJPASS and 7th & 8th graders will be taking the NJASK.  The 3rd & 4th grades will take the NJASK the week of May 4th and the 5th & 6th graders will take the State test the week of May 11th.

The HSPA will be administered in the high school on March 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Make ups for the HSPA will  be on March 10, 11,  and 12.
